Eye on the U: Catching up on Miami Hurricanes football, basketball and baseball
We have hit a cross-section on the Miami Hurricanes athletic calendar.
Football, fresh off a season that ended in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, is nearing the end of its offseason.
The men’s basketball team is finally ranked for the first time this season as it closes in on what could be a thrilling postseason.
And the baseball team is about to enter Atlantic Coast Conference play after a strong start to the season that featured a wake-up call last weekend.
On the latest episode of Eye on the U, Jordan McPherson, Andre Fernandez and Michelle Kaufman give the latest updates on where things stand on all three sports.
McPherson and Fernandez start off the show with news on the football front, which includes two new additions to Mario Cristobal’s staff. They also look at the UM standouts at the NFL combine and give a quick glimpse at how that could impact their prospects for next month’s NFL Draft.
From there, the conversation switches to the baseball diamond, where Miami is 10-2 entering conference play. The Hurricanes’ offense got off to a stellar start over the first 10 games of the season before dropping both games last weekend to the Florida Gators in their first true test. Can they turn things around?
Finally, Kaufman joins the show to discuss the stellar season by the men’s basketball team under first-year coach Jai Lucas. Miami finishes the regular season this week before going to the ACC Tournament and then the NCAA tournament.
