The Miami Hurricanes on Saturday continued their push to bulk up their roster through the transfer portal with the addition of defensive lineman Keona Davis.

Davis just finished his sophomore season at Nebraska, a campaign in which he led Cornhusker defensive linemen with 32 tackles while also logging three-and-a-half tackles for loss and one-and-a-half sacks in 13 games.

Davis played both inside at defensive tackle and off the edge for Nebraska last season, with 204 of his 402 defensive snaps being as an edge rusher and 198 on the interior of the defensive line.

Miami is replacing three of its starting defensive linemen from the 2025 season in edge rushers Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor plus defensive tackle David Blay Jr. Starting defensive tackle Ahmad Moten Sr. is returning for his redshirt senior season. Justin Scott is also a starting-caliber defensive tackle. Marquise Lightfoot and Armondo Blount are Miami’s top returning edge rushers, although Blount can also kick inside when needed. The Hurricanes also added Missouri edge rusher Damon Wilson II and Ohio State defensive lineman Jarquez Carter in the transfer portal this cycle.

In addition to Wilson, Davis and Carter, the Hurricanes have nine total portal commitments this cycle. The rest of the group includes wide receivers Cam Vaughn (West Virginia) and Vandrevius Jacobs (South Carolina), defensive back Omar Thornton (Boston College), offensive lineman Jamal Meriweather (Georgia) and kickers Jake Weinberg (Florida State) and Jack Olsen (Northwestern).
