Eye on the U: Previewing the Miami Hurricanes’ playoff game against Texas A&M

The College Football Playoff is finally here.

And as such, the Miami Hurricanes’ run to a potential national championship is about to begin.

The No. 10 seed Hurricanes (10-2) open the postseason with a first-round road game at the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies (11-1) on Saturday at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas (noon, ABC/ESPN).

On the latest episode of Eye on the U, Miami Herald Hurricanes beat writer Jordan McPherson and deputy sports editor Andre C. Fernandez dive into the matchup. They break down the key areas to watch and the mood around the Hurricanes team heading into the game.

This includes the potential return of nickel cornerback Keionte Scott, who missed Miami’s final three regular-season games with an undisclosed lower body injury, and how that will benefit the Hurricanes defense.

The show wraps up by looking at the rest of the first-round matchups — No. 8 Oklahoma vs. No. 9 Alabama, No. 6 Ole Miss vs. No. 11 Tulane and No. 5 Oregon vs. No. 12 James Madison — and a couple other quick hits related to the Hurricanes.
