Where Miami Hurricanes rank in final AP poll before playoff field is announced
The Miami Hurricanes will find out their fate when it comes to the 12-team College Football Playoff soon enough.
But before the bracket is formally revealed, the Hurricanes’ placement in the final AP top 25 poll Sunday might be an indication of what’s to come later in the day.
The Hurricanes checked at No. 10 in the latest AP poll, released Sunday morning. That’s two spots above their No. 12 ranking from last week. Miami was No. 12 in the fifth of six weekly CFP rankings, the final of which will be used to determine the 12-team playoff field.
The final CFP rankings are set to come out starting at noon Sunday. The five highest-ranked conference champions and the next seven highest-ranked teams in that ranking will determine the 12-team playoff field.
