The Miami Hurricanes football team had a program-record 19 players earn All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors, including one who earned multiple honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

This includes four players landing on first team in wide receiver Malachi Toney (who also earned second-team honors as an all-purpose back), defensive linemen Akheem Mesidor and Rueben Bain Jr., and offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa.

Toney, a true freshman, finished tied for the ACC lead with seven receiving touchdowns, third with 84 catches and fourth with 970 receiving yards. He also ran for a touchdown and threw two touchdown passes. The 970 receiving yards are a UM freshman record, while the 84 catches are one shy of tying Xavier Restrepo for the most by a Hurricanes player in a single season.

Bain and Mesidor formed a dynamic one-two punch on the edges of Miami’s defensive line. They combined for 19.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks and 101 quarterback pressures.

Mauigoa, meanwhile, anchored a Miami offensive line that was viewed as one of the best in college football this season.

The rest of Miami’s honorees were as follows:

Second team: defensive lineman Ahmad Moten Sr., defensive back Keionte Scott, defensive back Jakobe Thomas, offensive lineman Anez Cooper, and Toney’s second honoring as an all-purpose standout.

Third team: quarterback Carson Beck, offensive linemen James Brockermeyer and Markel Bell, linebacker Wesley Bissainthe and running back Mark Fletcher Jr.

Honorable mention: linebacker Mohammad Toure, defensive back Zechariah Poyser, wide receiver Keelan Marion, defensive back Damari Brown and defensive lineman David Blay Jr.

The conference’s major individual awards — Player of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year — will be revealed on Wednesday. The ACC Coach of the Year will be announced on Thursday.
