The No. 15 Miami Hurricanes are doing what they can to keep path to the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game alive.

On Saturday, that meant beating the NC State Wolfpack 41-7 at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Miami Hurricanes’ path to the ACC Championship Game

If the season ended today, the Hurricanes would be sixth in the league standings. The ACC Championship Game would be between Georgia Tech and Virginia, both of whom are 6-1 in league play with one game left. SMU and Pittsburgh each also have one loss, but still have two conference games left on their schedule.

That said, there are still a path for Miami to get to Charlotte.

It starts, of course, with Miami winning its final two games — road contests at Virginia Tech on Nov. 22 and Pittsburgh on Nov. 29. Doing so puts the Hurricanes at 10-2 and gives Pittsburgh its second conference loss.

From there, Miami needs Pittsburgh to beat Georgia Tech on Nov. 22. There is no path for Miami to qualify for the ACC Championship Game with a 7-1 Georgia Tech at the top of the conference

Should Pittsburgh beat Georgia Tech, Miami needs SMU to drop one of its final two games (home against Louisville or at California) AND either a Virginia loss to Virginia Tech OR at least one Duke loss, preferably to UNC on Nov. 22 (the Blue Devils also face Wake Forest on Nov. 29).

Miami would face either Virginia, Duke or Georgia Tech in the conference title game depending on which game(s) SMU, Duke and/or Virginia lose.
