Hurricanes’ CJ Daniels officially out for Syracuse. Two others questionable
CJ Daniels will miss the No. 18 Miami Hurricanes’ game against the Syracuse Orange on Saturday (3:30 p.m., ESPN) after all.
The sixth-year senior wide receiver has been downgraded to out on the ACC’s latest availability report for the Miami-Syracuse game released Friday night. He was initially listed as questionable on the first availability report on Thursday despite coach Mario Cristobal on Monday saying Daniels would be out a couple of weeks.
Linebacker Wesley Bissainthe and defensive tackle Ahmad Moten Sr. remain listed as questionable.
Miami already ruled out running back Mark Fletcher Jr., cornerback OJ Frederique Jr. and wide receiver Tony Johnson on Thursday when the ACC released its initial availability report.
A final report will be released at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, two hours before kickoff.
Daniels leads the Hurricanes with six touchdown catches and is second on the team with 33 catches and 351 receiving yards. Sophomore Joshisa “JoJo” Trader started in Daniels’ place against SMU on Saturday.
Bissainthe is fourth on the team with 32 tackles and also has 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and an interception.
Moten, who like Daniels did not play against SMU, has 16 tackles, three tackles for loss and one sack this season.
