The Miami Hurricanes’ path to the ACC Championship Game

After SMU’s surprise loss to Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Virginia are now the only two ACC teams undefeated in league play through Week 9.

Since Georgia Tech and Virginia don’t face each other, they have the clear path to the title game if they win out.

But that doesn’t mean Miami’s out of the picture.

The Hurricanes are one of five ACC teams — along with Pittsburgh, Louisville, SMU and Duke — to have just one conference loss, so the field is still packed with six weeks left in the season and Miami is still in the running.

Plus, there is still a lot of overlap overall among the top seven teams.

Miami still has two of those one-loss teams on their schedule in SMU (Nov. 1) and Pittsburgh (Nov. 29). Georgia Tech also hosts Pittsburgh (Nov. 22). Virginia plays Duke on Nov. 15. Louisville and SMU play on Nov. 22.

It’ll be interesting to see how everything sorts itself out over the final month of the season.
