Game time, broadcast info announced for Miami Hurricanes road game vs. SMU Mustangs
For the first time this season, the Miami Hurricanes will be playing in the early afternoon.
The Hurricanes’ road game against the SMU Mustangs on Saturday will kick off from Gerald J. Ford Stadium at noon and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
It’s just the second time this season that Miami is not playing in a 7 p.m. or later window. The only exception to this point was a 4:30 p.m. kick against USF in Week 3.
This will be just the second-ever meeting between Miami and SMU and the first in Dallas. The only other matchup between the Hurricanes and Mustangs came on Sept. 18, 1965, with SMU winning 7-3 in Miami.
And this game figures to have implications on the Atlantic Coast Conference championship race.
Miami (6-1, 2-1 ACC) and SMU (5-3, 3-1 ACC) each have one loss in league play entering the week. They are two of seven teams in the ACC with either zero or one conference loss, so the loser will face a much tougher road in its quest to make it to Charlotte on Dec. 6 for the ACC Championship Game — something Miami hasn’t done since 2017 and something SMU is trying to do for the second time in as many years in the league.
The game is just Miami’s second road game of the year and will mark the first time the Hurricanes leave the state of Florida. Their only other road game to this point was their 29-22 win over the Florida State Seminoles on Oct. 4. UM only has two other road games after SMU: Nov. 22 at Virginia Tech and Nov. 29 at Pittsburgh.
