The Miami Hurricanes’ in-state rivalry game against the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday (7:30 p.m., ABC) to begin UM’s Atlantic Coast Conference slate will still be a ranked matchup in Tallahassee.

Just not as marquee as it had the potential to be.

Miami (4-0, 0-0 ACC) checks in at No. 3 in the latest AP poll, released Sunday afternoon, following its first of two bye weeks of the season. That’s a one-spot drop from last week, with the Oregon Ducks jumping over Miami in the rankings after its win over then-No. 3 Penn State. The Hurricanes still received four of 66 first-place votes.

But the Seminoles, after a double-overtime loss to Virginia on Friday, fell 10 spots from No. 8 to No. 18.

This will be Miami’s third ranked matchup of the season. UM opened the season with a 27-24 win over the then-No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and also have a 49-12 win over the then-No. 18 USF Bulls on Sept. 13.

Saturday will still be the first ranked matchup between Miami and Florida State since Oct. 8, 2016, when UM was No. 10 and FSU was No. 23. The Seminoles ultimately won 20-19 at Hard Rock Stadium after the Hurricanes blew a 10-point halftime lead and their potential game-tying extra point attempt with 1:38 left to play after rallying back late was blocked.

FSU (3-1, 0-1 ACC) was one of multiple casualties in the AP poll this week. Four top-10 teams lost this week, with Oregon beating Penn State 30-24 in double overtime, Ole Miss knocking off LSU 24-19 and Alabama winning 24-21 against Georgia on Saturday in addition to Florida State’s Friday loss.

The Ohio State Buckeyes remained at No. 1 in the poll, while Oregon, Miami, the Ole Miss Rebels and Oklahoma Sooners rounded out the top five.

Penn State fell from No. 3 to No. 7. LSU fell from No. 4 to No. 13. Georgia fell from No. 5 to No. 12.
