What are three keys for the Miami Hurricanes against the Florida Gators?

Limit self-inflicted mistakes: Miami had a season-high nine penalties against USF. While they didn’t prove costly last week, the Hurricanes need to avoid giving the Gators any extra chances by extending drives on defense or shooting themselves in the foot on offense.

Win in the trenches: Miami wins and loses by its performance at the line of scrimmage. The offensive line paves the way for the run game and gives quarterback Carson Beck ample time to let plays develop in the pass game. The defensive line’s ability to disrupt and get in the opponent’s backfield sets the stage for the rest of the defense to produce.

Don’t underestimate the opponent: Yes, Florida is 1-2. It has been a lackluster start for the Gators, no doubt, and it has Florida coach Billy Napier on the hot seat. But UF’s roster still has talent, even if it hasn’t lived up to its potential. The Hurricanes have done a good job of not overlooking their opponent. That needs to continue this week.
