Miami Hurricanes’ home game vs. Florida Gators will be a night game. The details
The Miami Hurricanes’ home game against the Florida Gators on Sept. 20 at Hard Rock Stadium will be under the lights.
Exactly when the game starts will be determined this weekend.
The ACC announced Monday that kickoff for UM-UF will either be at 7:30 p.m. on ABC or 7 p.m. on ESPN, with the decision being finalized following Saturday’s slate of games.
The matchup is the back half of a home and home series between the in-state rivals. Miami beat Florida in Gainesville 41-17 on Aug. 31, 2024, in both teams’ season opener last year.
This is the first game between the Hurricanes and Gators in South Florida since 2013, when UM beat UF 21-16. Miami is 30-27 all-time against Florida, including winners in eight of the past 10.
The matchup will be Miami’s fourth consecutive home game to start the season as the Hurricanes’ entire nonconference slate is at Hard Rock Stadium. UM beat Notre Dame 27-24 and Bethune-Cookman 45-3. The Hurricanes, ranked No. 5 in the AP Top 25 poll, host the No. 18 USF Bulls at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
UM’s four home Atlantic Coast Conference games are Oct. 17 against Louisville, Oct. 25 against Stanford, Nov. 8 against Syracuse and Nov. 15 against N.C. State.
The Gators are 1-1 after a 55-0 shutout win over Long Island University on Aug. 30 and an 18-16 loss to USF. UF plays at the No. 3 LSU Tigers on Saturday.
