The Miami Hurricanes saw a noticeable bump in their ranking in the AP Top 25 poll following their season-opening upset win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sunday.

UM moved up five spots to No. 5 in the latest poll, released on Tuesday following the first complete week of the college football season.

Miami beat Notre Dame, which opened the season ranked No. 6, 27-24 at Hard Rock Stadium to begin the season. Carter Davis kicked a go-ahead 47-yard field goal with 1:04 left to give the Hurricanes the lead for good after they blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Notre Dame fell three spots to No. 9.

And there was plenty of other movement at the top of the poll with three other preseason top-10 teams losing.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are the new No. 1 team after beating the preseason No. 1 Texas Longhorns, who fell to No. 7. The LSU Tigers moved up six spots, from No. 9 to No. 3, after their win over the Clemson Tigers, who fell from No. 4 to No. 8. And the Alabama Crimson Tide fell 13 spots from No. 8 to No. 21 after their loss to the previously unranked Florida State Seminoles, who moved into the poll at No. 14.

Add in the Florida Gators being at No. 13, and this is the first time since the 2006 preseason AP Poll that Florida, Florida State and Miami are all ranked in the Top 15. The Hurricanes face both of their in-state rivals this year, hosting Florida on Sept. 20 and going to FSU on Oct. 4 to begin Atlantic Coast Conference play.
