Hurricanes release depth chart before Notre Dame game, giving clarity at some positions

The Miami Hurricanes released their first depth chart of the season on Sunday ahead of their marquee season opener against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Among the notables...

-No definitive starter was named at running back, with all three of junior Mark Fletcher Jr., sophomore Jordan Lyle and redshirt sophomore CharMar Brown (a North Dakota State transfer) listed as possible starters

-Keelan Marion, a BYU transfer, is the only player listed as a definite wide receiver starter as one of the two outside receivers. Sixth-year senior CJ Daniels, an LSU transfer, and sophomore Joshisa “JoJo” Trader are listed as possible starters for the other outside spot, while true freshman Malachi Toney and junior Ray Ray Joseph are the two listed as possible starters in the slot.

-The starting left guard will be either Matt McCoy or Samson Okunlola.

-The only cornerback listed as a definite starter is Keionte Scott in the nickel. The two outside corners will be one of four between sophomore OJ Frederique Jr., redshirt sophomore Damari Brown, sophomore Xavier Lucas (a Wisconsin transfer) and redshirt sophomore Ethan O’Connor (a Washington State transfer).

-David Blay Jr., a Louisiana Tech transfer, is listed as one of the two starters at defensive tackle. The other spot will be one of redshirt junior Ahmad Moten Sr. and sophomore Justin Scott.

-No starting kicker was named, with no decision made between Carter Davis (FAU transfer) and Bert Auburn (Texas transfer).

-Five players are listed among potential retuners: Keionte Scott (kickoffs and punts), Keelan Marion (kickoffs), Jordan Lyle (kickoffs), Ray Ray Joesph (punts) and Malachi Toney (punts).
