ACC preseason football poll is out. Here’s where Miami is projected to finish
The Miami Hurricanes are once again projected to finish near the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference standings.
UM was voted to finished second in the 17-team ACC by the media, as unveiled by the league on Wednesday. The Hurricanes received seven votes to win the conference out of 183 overall ballots.
The Clemson Tigers, who won the ACC Championship last season, was the overwhelming favorite, selected to finish first on 167 ballots.
The SMU Mustangs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Louisville Cardinals round out the top five.
Miami finished 10-3 last season and went 6-2 in league play. The Hurricanes’ two league losses were on the road to Georgia Tech and Syracuse, with the loss to Syracuse in their regular-season finale knocking them out of a spot in the ACC Championship Game. The top two teams in league play during the regular season will meet in the ACC Championship Game on Dec. 6 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
