Eye On The U: Recapping Hurricanes’ Pro Day (hello, Cam Ward) and a look at spring practices
So much focus for the Miami Hurricanes right now is on their present as the team continues through its spring practice regiment, which is nearing the halfway point this week.
But on Monday, the emphasis was on the past, with 20 players from last season’s team taking part in the Hurricanes’ Pro Day ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
And the headliner of the group, of course, was quarterback Cam Ward, who very likely could be the No. 1 overall pick when the draft gets underway on April 24 in Green Bay.
Ward continued to make his case to be that top pick — a feat only two other Hurricanes have ever accomplished — and the rest of his teammates did what they could to elevate their draft stock as well.
On the latest Eye On The U, Miami Herald Hurricanes beat writer Jordan McPherson and deputy sports editor Andre C. Fernandez recap Pro Day and the significance of Ward potentially going 1-1 could mean for the Hurricanes.
Afterward, McPherson and Fernandez give the latest updates from Miami spring practice ahead of the team’s expected first scrimmage this weekend.
