Eye on the U: Another Miami Hurricanes comeback win as playoff push continues

It’s becoming a tale as old as time (or at least through Atlantic Coast Conference play): The Miami Hurricanes’ offense is fantastic, the defense overcomes a shaky start, UM wins in comeback fashion.

That was the case again on Saturday, when Miami erased an 11-point deficit in an eventual 53-31 rout of Duke at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami is now 9-0, one of just five undefeated teams left at the Football Bowl Subdivision level.

It gives the Hurricanes a clear path to the ACC Championship Game and in turn the 12-team College Football Playoff with three games left in the regular season.

On the latest episode of Eye on the U, Miami Herald Hurricanes beat writer and deputy sports editor Andre C. Fernandez break down Miami’s latest win (including some record-setting performances by quarterback Cam Ward and wide receiver Xavier Restrepo), take a look at the first College Football Playoff ranking and what it means for UM, and then dive into the final stretch of the season.
