Eye on the U: Hurricanes, at 8-0, continue to roll and showing different ways to win
Another week won.
Another test conquered.
Another chance to keep their perfect season alive.
The Miami Hurricanes continue to roll, now 8-0 and 4-0 in conference play after a 36-14 win over a struggling Florida State Seminoles team last weekend at Hard Rock Stadium. UM is now the No. 5 team in the AP top 25 poll and remains one of eight undefeated teams in the country.
The win wasn’t as easy as some might have expected. The offense found a way to thrive on a night when quarterback and Heisman Trophy contender Cam Ward wasn’t his otherworldly self. The defense returned to form. Special teams played a factor.
Now, just four more tests remain in the regular season as the College Football Playoff field continues to take shape.
Next up: A home game against the Duke Blue Devils, led by former Hurricanes coach Manny Diaz.
On the latest episode of Eye on the U, Hurricanes beat writer Jordan McPherson and deputy sports editor Andre C. Fernandez break down the FSU game, take a look at the challenges Duke presents and analyze the state of college football overall entering the final month of the regular season with so many questions still left to be answered.
