The weekly accolades keep rolling in for Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward.

The fifth-year senior on Monday was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Quarterback of the Week for the third time in five weeks after playing a pivotal role in the Hurricanes’ 38-34, come-from-behind victory over Virginia Tech on Friday to keep Miami’s record at a perfect 5-0.

Ward on Friday completed 24 of 38 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 57 yards and a score on the ground. He did turn the ball over three times in the game, with two interceptions and a lost fumble.

But when it mattered most, Ward stepped up. He led the Hurricanes to touchdowns on each of their final three drives to erase a pair of10-point deficits.

On the season, Ward has completed 70.2 percent of his passes for 1,782 yards and 18 touchdowns against four interceptions. His average of 356.4 passing yards per game ranks third nationally behind Syracuse’s Kyle McCord (364.8 yards per game) and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart (363 yards per game). His 18 passing touchdowns are the most in the country.

Ward is also the first ACC quarterback with at least 300 passing yards and three passing touchdowns in each of their first five games of the season since Miami joined the league ahead of the 2004 campaign.

Ward was previously tabbed ACC Quarterback of the Week on Sept. 3 following Miami’s season-opening win over Florida and Sept. 23 after the Hurricanes beat USF.
