Sunday was sure to be a Miami Hurricanes kind of day when coaches and staff members began hinting on social media of football commitments soon to come.

And sure enough, the Hurricanes got their fourth commitment for the Class of 2024 when three-star Baton Rouge Southern University Lab School defensive back Dylan Day pledged his allegiance to the University of Miami on Sunday night.

“MIAMI WE COMING FOR #6,’’ Day posted on his Twitter commitment tweet. “I’M HOME MIAMI,’’ he said, with a “100” emoji.

Day is listed as 5-11 and 165 pounds by On3.com and as 6-0 and 170 pounds by 247Sports.

On3.com has him as the 22nd best player in Louisiana and the 72nd best safety nationally.

Day, who plays the safety position in high school, has also competed at cornerback and nickelback. He was recruited by new UM defensive coordinator Lance Guidry, who also coaches safeties at the U and is from Louisiana.

Day told CaneSport he plans on “maybe taking one or two more visits’’ to other schools, saying he wanted “to make sure everything is perfect” for him. He is planning on taking an official visit this summer.

On Friday night, Chance Robinson, a four-star receiver from state champion St. Thomas Aquinas, committed to Miami at the spring game.

Also previously committing to the 2023 class: three-star, 6-6 quarterback Judd Anderson and three-star kicker Abram Murray.
