Miami lands commitment from 4-star St. Thomas Aquinas WR Chance Robinson at spring game
The Miami Hurricanes officially wrapped up spring practices with their spring game Friday and immediately kicked off recruiting season with a bang.
Chance Robinson is staying home in South Florida after orally committing to Miami on Friday.
A four-star wide receiver from St. Thomas Aquinas, Robinson committed to the Hurricanes during their spring game at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, finally giving Miami a blue-chip recruit to anchor its Class of 2024. Robinson is the No. 22 wide receiver and No. 135 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings for the 2024 recruiting class, and is coming off a junior season with 29 catches for 540 yards, 13 touchdowns and a Class 3M championship.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver announced his commitment on Twitter right as the spring game ended.
“When U see the big picture- and U can be the star of the movie! U give them a blockbuster!!” he tweeted. “Miami let’s make an Oscar!! Staying HOME[.]”
The Hurricanes beat out Florida State and Auburn to keep Robinson from leaving the Miami metropolitan area.
Robinson’s commitment comes exactly a week after three-star quarterback Judd Anderson committed to the Hurricanes, effectively kicking off Miami’s 2024 recruiting cycle. The Hurricanes also hold a commitment from three-star kicker Abram Murray, who pledged to Miami last year.
Robinson is also the first in-state prospect to commit to the Hurricanes so far in this cycle.
Robinson has been a frequent visitor in Coral Gables throughout the spring and already visited Miami multiple times in April before making his commitment this week.
It’s a good starting point to the 2024 class, especially following some tough recruiting misses in recent weeks and months. Robinson is the No. 2 wideout in Broward County for this class and his commitment gives the Hurricanes a foothold at a national powerhouse program.
If he signs with Miami later this year or on national signing day, Robinson will be the first Raider to land with the Hurricanes out of high school since former linebacker Avery Huff way back in the Class of 2019. Between then and now, St. Thomas Aquinas has won four straight state titles without sending a single player to Miami.
