The jerseys that went on sale: green ones with orange and white striping on the sleeves; black ones with orange and green stripes on the sleeves.
An all-green uniform will be worn for the Toledo game at home on Sept. 23.
An all-black uniform will be worn for the Georgia Tech game at home on Oct. 12 – a Thursday-night ESPN telecast.
“They’re basically taking the jersey that was the throwback jersey that became the new jersey last year and making a green and black jersey from it,’’ said Harry Rothwell, general manager of AllCanes in Coral Gables. “They’re taking the throwback jersey and adding two colors they never wore before in the throwback days.
“The jerseys look great. The fans are excited. They love both colors.’’
The premium retail green and orange jerseys with the sewn-on numbers are on sale for $100.
