Tom Brady held a news conference. This is what he said about those Dolphins rumors
Tom Brady held his first Tampa Bay Buccaneers news conference since he announced his return after a 40-day retirement to return to the team earlier this year.
Brady’s offseason, which included the short retirement, saw him tangled in rumors that there was interest in him playing quarterback for the Miami Dolphins and/or being involved with the franchise post-playing career in an ownership role.
Brady, though, returned to the Bucs a little more than a month into his retirement. On Thursday, he addressed the Dolphins rumors.
“I had a lot of conversations with a lot of people, I’ve had for the last three or four years of my career, about different opportunities when I’m done playing football, so, I kind of made a decision of what I’d like to do, and I’ll get to be in the game of football,” Brady said to reporters. “For me, the most important thing is where I’m at now and what I hope to do for this team. That’s been my commitment to this team and this organization. It’s been so much fun for me to come here two years ago. It’s been almost 2 1/2 now and it’s been an incredible part of my football journey. And it’s not over.”
But when it is over, as reported in May, Brady’s future is secure as a lead NFL analyst for Fox Sports.
The New York Post reported May 10 that the deal is worth $375 million for 10 years. The deal reportedly goes into effect once Brady stops playing.
