Report says Jerry Jeudy charges to be dismissed. Here’s the latest on the Broncos WR
The charges against Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in relation to his May 12 arrest are to be dismissed, according to various reports.
Jeudy, who starred at Deerfield Beach High and Alabama before the Broncos drafted him, was arrested on second-degree criminal tampering charges with a domestic violence enhancer by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado.
The District Attorney’s office there filed a motion to dismiss the charges Tuesday, NFL.com and others reported.
“When I reviewed the evidence, I felt there was never a crime that had been committed and Jerry should never have been charged,” Jeudy’s attorney Harvey Steinberg said, ESPN reported.
The incident involved the Jeudy, 23, and the mother of his 1-month-old daughter with no physical contact, according to previous reports. It had to do with property, the sheriff’s office said May 12.
The alleged victim asked for the charges to be dismissed and called 911 for police to monitor the situation and not arrest Jeudy, NFL.com reported May 13.
Jeudy was in jail for one night, before posting a $1,500 bond following a court hearing May 13.
The Broncos drafted Jeudy with the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has 90 receptions for 1,323 yards and three touchdowns in 26 games of his two-year NFL career.
