Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, of Deerfield Beach, was released from jail following a court hearing in Colorado on Friday, but the case was not dismissed.

Jeudy, 23, was arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office held Jeudy without bond, and said it was a domestic dispute involving a woman he had an “ongoing relationship” with. Officials said Jeudy allegedly withheld property from the woman, including a wallet, child car seat and medical records involving the child related to a 1-month old child the couple have together, according to multiple reports.

Jeudy allegedly withheld the property after the woman allegedly took one of his three cell phones away, according to a police report, 9News.com reported.

The Denver Post reported Thursday Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown said, “the domestic violence enhancer includes language pertaining to property, when it is withheld and used as a method of coercion.”

The Sheriff’s Office also said Thursday there was no physical contact between Jeudy and the woman.

On Friday, Jeudy’s attorney Harvey Steinberg said Jeudy was released on bond, with full contact allowed between him and the alleged victim, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Steinberg told ESPN the judge said, “there was not probable cause to believe that there was the threat or use of any physical force against the victim.”

The Denver Post reported the woman asked Judge Chantel Contiguglia to dismiss the case against Jeudy, “saying she never felt threatened during the domestic dispute that led to,” his arrest.

She said “she made contact with authorities to ‘monitor the situation,’ but that Jeudy never made physical contact during the dispute,” the Post reported.

The outlet reported Contiguglia did not dismiss the case, imposing a mandatory protection order and has his next court appearance scheduled for May 31.

Jeudy was the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft after he starred at Alabama. He caught 38 passes for 467 yards in 10 games last season.
