How cold will it get in South Florida this weekend? See the coldest points
The strongest cold front in more than 15 years, one that could rival the deep freeze of 1989 that led to widespread crop damage around the state, will bring freezing temperatures in the low-30s as far south as Miami-Dade by Sunday morning, the National Weather Service in Miami said in an alert Thursday.
Forceful wind chills in the 20s across all of South Florida will bite us into Monday morning.

So when will we feel the freeze at its lowest point? Here’s what the weather service predicts:

We’ll feel a slight warming trend Friday and Saturday morning — with highs reaching 69 Friday afternoon and 67 Saturday afternoon, with lows in the mid 50s. That little warm-up will end later Saturday.
- Coldest point: We resume the 40s just after midnight and could hit the coldest point of this cold snap at 6 a.m. Sunday with an air temperature of 36 and a wind chill of 27 in the Miami area.
Sunday’s warmest point is expected at 3 p.m., when the high teases up to 52 before the rollercoaster heads to its next plunge.
- Second coldest point: The second coldest morning looks to be 6 a.m. Monday when Miami dips to 37 with a “feels-like” under freezing 30 degrees.
Monday’s warmest point is also forecast to be 3 p.m., when we should feel 59. The 30s are not expected on Tuesday when 44 degrees, with a 41 wind chill, is forecast at 6 a.m. It will reach into the mid-60s Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday’s range looks to be 56 in the early morning and 72 in the mid-afternoon.
