The South Florida weather outlook usually goes a little something like this: “it’ll be hot; you’ll need an umbrella.”

But with hurricane season picking up steam and the region already seeing near record-setting heat temperatures in the past month, you might be keeping a closer eye on this week’s forecast.

First of all, you should know there are currently no tropical storms or hurricanes headed our way. Tropical storm Cindy dissipated into a wave, the National Hurricane Center reported Sunday night. We’ll keep you posted if that changes.

Miami-Dade

Now, here’s a breakdown of what the rest of the work week will look like in the Miami area, according to the National Weather Service forecast as of Monday night:

Tuesday: The meteorologists predict a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day, with a high of nearly 89 and heat index values as high as 100. At night, the sky will be partly cloudy, with a low of about 78 and a chance of rain of 30%.

Wednesday: It’ll be “mostly sunny,” with a high of nearly 91 degrees and heat index values as high as 103. The temperature will drop to as low as 78 in the evening. Experts set the chance of precipitation for day and night at 40%.

Thursday: The forecast indicates a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms all throughout Thursday. It’ll be mostly sunny with a high of nearly 91 during the day, and partly cloudly with a low of about 78 once the sun sets.

Friday: The forecast also indicates a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms all throughout Friday. It’ll be sunny with a high of nearly 91 during the day, and partly cloudly with a low of about 79 once the sun sets.

Broward

And here’s a breakdown of what the rest of the work week will look like in the Fort Lauderdale area, according to the National Weather Service forecast as of Monday night:

Tuesday: Meteorologists calculate a 40% chance of rain. The weather will be mostly sunny with a high of nearly 92 and heat index values as high as 102 during the day. The temperature will drop as low as 77 at night, with a partly cloudly sky.

Wednesday: During the day, the chance of precipitation is of 40%; that’ll decrease to 30% at night. The day will look mostly sunny, with a high of nearly 94 and heat index values as high as 105. The night will look partly cloudly with a low of around 78 degrees.

Thursday: The chance of precipitation will consistently stay at 60% Thursday. The experts predict a mostly sunny day with a high near 94 and partly cloudy night with a low of about 78.

Friday: Friday will be a sunny day with a high of nearly 93, the forecast says. The chance of precipitation is 40% during the day and of 30% during the night. At night, the temperature could fall as low as 79.
