Homestead driver dies after crashing into stopped cars on Interstate 95, police say
A Homestead man was killed Thursday night in Broward County after crashing into three cars that were stopped on Interstate 95 because of an earlier accident, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP did not name the 74-year-old man, who died after Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue paramedics took him to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.

According to the highway patrol, the man was driving his 2007 Toyota Corolla south on I-95 near Oakland Park Boulevard around 10:20 p.m. as he approached the stopped cars. He never slowed down and slammed into the other vehicles, the FHP said.
No other drivers were injured, according to the FHP.
Fatal crash on Florida’s Turnpike
The FHP also reported that a 34-year-old Davie man was killed on Florida’s Turnpike early Friday morning.
Troopers say the man was driving his 2016 Acura south near Tamarac shortly after 5 a.m. when, for reasons still under investigation, he drove off the road and slammed into two trees.
Tamarac Fire Rescue paramedics declared him dead at the scene. The FHP has not named the driver.
