Drivers who usually take Florida’s Turnpike north out of the Golden Glades Interchange should find another route after a Wednesday morning tractor trailer rollover with an oil spill near Hard Rock Stadium.

Florida Highway Patrol said the 60-gallon fuel spill had closed all northbound and southbound lanes of the turnpike in the Northwest 199th Street area. As of 1:25 p.m., the southbound lanes were open and some northbound traffic was getting past via the far right lane.

FHP said the tractor-trailer heading south jackknifed after hitting the center median and lay across the northbound lanes. A BMW and an SUV hit the trailer.

The three drivers were taken to a hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue with non-life threatening injuries while the agency’s hazmat unit dealt with the spill.

Alternate northbound routes include Interstate 95, Northwest 27th Avenue or U.S. 441.
