Miami Gardens man killed in hit-and-run near Seminole Hard Rock Casino, police say

THURSDAY UPDATE: Semniole police released the name of the pedestrian who was killed.

The hit-and-run that clogged traffic on southbound State Road 7, aka U.S. 441, for about five hours Wednesday morning killed a Miami Gardens man, Seminole police said.

A spokesman said Winsor Louis-Jean, 61, died when struck around 4 a.m. on a sidewalk near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

Southbound traffic was down to one lane until 9:30 a.m., when a second lane opened. All lanes were open by 11:30 a.m.

Police haven’t released any information on the driver or car involved.
