Adoptable senior dog is a ‘goofball’ — and loves Disney movies. Watch him ‘sing’ along
A senior dog is “quite the goofball” — and a huge fan of Disney movies, a video shows.
Thor the dog was caught “singing” along during the animated movie “Encanto.” Now, the Florida pup needs a new owner who will embrace his quirks and care for him as he grows older.
“I’ll keep you laughing with my silly antics and playful spirit,” the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Brevard said in an online adoption profile written from Thor’s perspective. “If you’re looking for a loyal and cuddly friend who brings lots of love and laughter into your life, look no further than me.”
Thor is up for adoption after spending time in and out of the shelter. He arrived at the SPCA in 2022 but was adopted and returned twice, most recently due to his owner’s health problems, a spokesperson told McClatchy News in a Jan. 7 email.
“While staff were sad to see Thor back at the shelter, we all remain optimistic that there is a family out there who can give him the love and care he needs during his golden years,” wrote Shelby Montgomery, public relations and community engagement coordinator for the SPCA of Brevard.
The 10-year-old pup has several medical conditions, including ligament tears and “chronic skin issues.” He’s a “candidate for hospice adoption,” meaning the shelter will cover the costs of his care for the rest of his life.
Thor is described as an 87-pound “couch potato” with a “gentle soul.” Then there’s his love for “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” a song he can be heard yelping to in the shelter’s 2022 video.
“Don’t let my name fool you — I’m more of a cuddly teddy bear than a thunder god,” the shelter wrote. “I’m a big boy with a big heart, and I’m known for being a loyal and affectionate companion.”
As of Jan. 7, the shelter’s website listed Thor among the animals available for adoption in Titusville, a roughly 40-mile drive east from Orlando. Details about the facility’s adoption process can be found at spcabrevard.com.
