A Florida lottery player won a prize worth celebrating — but hasn’t claimed it yet.

Now time is running out, given the ticket worth $57,598.31 expires soon, the Florida Lottery wrote June 24 in a news release.

The person is set to get richer months after hitting the jackpot in the Fantasy 5 game. The ticket, which came from Placita Supermarket in Daytona Beach, matched all five numbers picked in the Jan. 3 drawing.

The winning numbers: 20-35-29-14-18.

Though Fantasy 5 game tickets start at $1, the winner got their ticket for free. The person chose the Quick Pick option, meaning the lottery machine randomly chose at least some of the numbers.

“Players win the top prize by matching 5-of-5 winning numbers drawn in any order,” the lottery wrote. “Additionally, players win cash prizes or a free Quick Pick ticket by matching two, three, or four of the numbers drawn in the official drawing for the date played.”

In Florida, lucky ticket holders have about six months to cash in on drawing game prizes. So, the deadline to claim the $57,000 prize is midnight Eastern Time on Monday, July 1.

But as of June 24, no one had come forward. When the winner is ready, the big prize “must be claimed at a Florida Lottery District Office,” officials said.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
