Brightline’s Miami-Orlando route finally has a new opening date. Here’s what to know
If you’ve been wanting to hop on a train and spend a few hours at Walt Disney World, mark your calendars.
Brightline’s Orlando station will soon open after weeks of uncertainty.
The company’s Orlando station will see its first visitors on Sept. 22, according to an email from the train company. The station’s unveiling was pushed back from Sept. 1.
The Orlando stop signals the expansion of the rail route north of South Florida. The company has stations in Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach.
After the delay, the Miami Herald reported that the first available tickets to Orlando were for Sept. 22. One way-tickets from Miami to Orlando are selling for as low as $79 and as high as $309 for the premium class. Groups of four or more will automatically save 25% on their bookings, according to a company email.
Brightline stations have previously faced delays in opening.
The Orlando station was delayed twice: first, from Sept. 1 to Sept. 15 and now to Sept. 22.
And in December, the opening date of Brightline’s Aventura station faced several hold-ups due to pending elevator permits.
