A Central Florida woman was struck by lightning the day before a Beyoncé concert.

Rebecca Soto was walking her dog in the Orlando area Tuesday evening when the weather turned.

Her husband, Lauro Soto, told local station News 6 that she was busy “painting her nails and trying on outfits,” prepping to attend the pop star’s Renaissance World Tour stop at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa with friends the following night.

At some point, she took their dog Drake out for a walk; all of a sudden, Lauro says he heard a “loud boom.”

When he ran outside, he saw his wife “lying face down, completely limp.”

Rebecca Soto was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is still recovering, according to a GoFundMe page.

“Becca was in critical condition for several days,” says says the online fundraiser asking for $45,000. “There were burns head to toe from the lightning strike. She was on life support and even underwent therapeutic hypothermia to help preserve her brain function as she was without oxygen for so long.”

The page goes on to say “there is a long road of recovery ahead physically, mentally and emotionally.”

As of Monday, the GoFundMe had raised more than $25,000.
