An adorable pooch got himself into a situation he couldn’t get out of in South Florida on Thursday.

Luckily, a few first responders gave him an assist.

According to a Facebook post from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, a crew was dispatched to help out the small light-colored dog that had become stuck in a fence at his home.

The post shows Taz standing patiently on the front path, wedged inside a square of the gate, which had been unhinged and removed by firefighters.

One part of Taz’s body is on one side of the fence, one half on the other.

“Battalion 2 team dealt with a unique extrication,” the agency said on the post. “Taz thought he could outsmart the new fence his humans installed ... he was wrong.”

Luckily, the crew quickly helped him out of his uncomfortable predicament.

Tom Reyes, spokesman for the department, said that the 13-year-old beagle mix is back to his “happy go lucky self,” the family told him.

Reyes also disclosed the reason the fence was installed in the first place: Taz liked to visit an avocado tree on the property a little too often.

Pictures after the ordeal show the furball back where he belongs: on an outdoor couch on the patio, with two pillows. We see a long nap in his future.
