Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office took credit for sending two planes with migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts Wednesday night, jump-starting a program to relocate migrants out of the state.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke in favor of transferring migrants to other places during a news briefing Thursday in Niceville.

“Everyone wants to come to Florida,” DeSantis said.

The governor called for the “burden” of immigration to be shared — “it shouldn’t just fall to a handful of red states.”
