Three hours after Wednesday night’s announcement of three confirmed coronavirus cases, including the first in Miami-Dade, the Florida Department of Health announced in Thursday’s first hour that three more people tested positive for COVID-19.

Two of the cases are in Broward County, men ages 65 and 61.

The 61-year-old is a travel-related case, the health department says, and related to Port Everglades. Whether or not he’s connected to Metro Cruise Services, as was the case with three previous Port Everglades cases, is still being investigated.

Also still under investigation are whether the 65-year-old in Broward or the third case announced Thursday morning, a 57-year-old in Lee County, are travel-related cases.

This brings the state total to 26, seven of which are in Broward County and one in Miami-Dade.
