Recalled ground beef and pork sold at Florida Publix might have ‘foreign material’

For the second time in less than two months, Publix announced a not-food-in-your-food recall of products from a store’s meat department.

The Market Ground Beef and Pork Market Ground with a sell by date of Tuesday, Jan. 14 and Lean Ground Beef and Ground Sirloin with sell by dates of Jan. 15, and sold at 243 Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa has ”potential of foreign material,” Publix announced Tuesday.

There’s no mystery behind any feelings of déjà vu you might be having. The same thing happened at a Publix in Walton County on Nov., 27.

If you have recalled ground beef or pork, return it to the store for a refund or throw them deep into the garbage beyond the curiosity of pets.
