A meat company is recalling 25,000 packs of salami sticks over a potential danger
Creminelli Fine Meats recalled 4,207 pounds — or, about 25,889 2.6-ounce packages — of its Uncured Italian Salami Parmesan sticks. The recall notice posted by the USDA says there’s a problem in the cheese.
“The problem was discovered by inspection personnel during a routine label verification review,” the recall notice says. “Egg white lysozyme, a component of the parmesan cheese ingredient, is not declared on the final product label.”
That creates a potentially major food allergy problem for people with an egg allergy. If you don’t have an egg allergy, continue with your munching. If you or someone who might be eating the sticks has an egg allergy, return the pack to the store of purchase.
The sticks were sold in online and in brick-and-mortar stores in Florida, California, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Utah.
