For the second time in two months, Publix posted that a Bantam Bagels mini stuffed bagel product sold in its stores was pulled because of a packaging error that created a food allergy danger.

Last month, it was the Brooklyn-born, Manhattan-based company’s The Classic that had a product with egg erroneously packed. This month, Bantam Bagels’ Everybody’s Favorite, an everything bagel stuffed with cream cheese, that had a product with egg erroneously packed.

Because egg isn’t supposed to be in the product, it’s not listed among the allergens, which can be a major problem.

“People who have an egg allergy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the items in this product lot,” the recall notice states.

In both instances, the manufacturer of the frozen bagel product, New Jersey-based Damascus Bakery OPCO, made the recall.

This covers the lot with expiration date June 10, 2023. The recall hadn’t posted to the FDA site as of Thursday morning.

Customers are asked to throw out the box and contact Bantam at 866-451-6744 for a replacement coupon. You can also return the box to the store of purchase for a full refund.
