Mini cream puffs sold at some Costco, Safeway and other stores might have metal inside
The latest not-food-in-your-food recall involves Delizza Belgian Mini Cream Puffs that might have “small metal fragments” adding some unwanted texture to the cream filling.
Battleboro, North Carolina company Poppies International issued the recall Tuesday. The company-written, FDA-posted recall alert claims the problem was found during production, and the desserts were made Dec. 7-10.
Here’s what was recalled:
▪ Lot Nos. L1J5021 and L1K5021 of Chocolate Enrobed Cream Puffs, containers of 30, that went to some ShopRite and PriceRite stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. The best-by date is 06/09/2023.
▪ Lot Nos. L2N5021 and L2O5021 of Cream Puffs, containers of 20, that went to some Safeway stores in Northern California. The best-by date is 06/10/2023.
▪ Lot Nos. L32E5021 and L32F5021 of Cream Puffs, containers of 120, that went to some Costco stores in Northern California; Sparks, Nevada and Carson City, Nevada. The best-by date is 06/07/2023.
If you have any of these boxes, throw them out or return them to the store for a full refund.
