About 234,391 pounds of 17 different Alexander & Hornung fully cooked ham and pepperoni products were recalled Sunday after the company found listeria during product sampling, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Alexander & Hornung, a Michigan company affiliated with Perdue Premium Meat Company Inc., wrote in a news release that there have been no confirmed reports of reactions after consumption of the products, which include uncured ham and bone-in ham steaks
The products subject to the recall have establishment number “EST. M10125” printed on the inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Listeria kills about 260 of the 1,600 Americans infected each year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. Listeria symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, high fever, severe headaches, stomachaches, stiffness, confusion and poor balance.
