Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday that he was suspending Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren. And the internet had a lot to say about the decision.

The governor said Warren “put himself publicly above the law” for refusing to enforce laws limiting abortion or prohibiting gender-affirming care for minors.

Some took to Twitter to support DeSantis’ decision, calling it the right move because Warren chose “which laws to follow and which to ignore.”

Others sounded the alarm, concerned about “the danger of going around removing ppl that you don’t like.”

Even Hillsborough County politicians weighed in online. U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor took to Twitter Thursday morning to share her thoughts.
