King Charles jokes about his mortality as his cancer treatments continue
While attending a reception at Waltham Forest Town Hall, King Charles joked about his mortality.
According to the Daily Mail, while chatting with Harvinder Rattan, a Sikh faith representative, Charles showed off his cheeky side.
In the video shared by the Daily Mail, Rattan is heard saying, “Your Majesty, good morning, how are you?”
To which Charles replied saying, “I’m still alive” with a smile.
The joke comes after it was reported that while the king’s cancer is moving “in a very positive direction,” his treatment will continue into next year.
Charles shared his cancer diagnosis with the world in January 2024. In March, it was revealed that Princess Kate was also undergoing cancer treatments.
Neither members of the royal family have shared their specific diagnosis.
In September, Kate announced that she had completed her chemotherapy treatments.
“His treatment has been moving in a positive direction and as a managed condition the treatment cycle will continue into next year,” palace sources said on Dec. 20, according to People.
The reception at Waltham Forest Town Hall is the last of the king’s royal duties for the holiday season.
While Kate, Prince William, and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are said to be at their home in Norfolk, they will likely join the king and queen at Sandringham for Christmas.
Earlier this week, both of Charles’ sons shared their respective Christmas cards with the public.
William and Kate featured a photo of their family of five. Prince Harry and Meghan Markel’s featured a photo of their family of four and several more images depicting their work over the year.
