Princess Kate, Prince William use familiar photo for annual Christmas card. ‘Perfect’
The Prince and Princess of Wales are sharing their family’s Christmas card with the world.
In traditional fashion, Prince William and Princess Kate took to Instagram to share their holiday well-wishes, using a picture many might find familiar.
The picture of their family of five was taken from the day they filmed the video that revealed Kate had finished her chemotherapy treatments.
“Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year,” the card reads.
As William has shared in previous interviews, it has been a difficult year for the royal family, as both Kate and King Charles were diagnosed with undisclosed forms of cancer.
“It’s interesting you say that, because I couldn’t be less relaxed this year,” William told reporters when discussing his decision to grow a beard. “So it’s very interesting you’re all seeing that.”
William continued calling the last year “brutal” as he watched both his father and his wife get treatment for their respective cancers.
“It’s been dreadful,” he said, according to the BBC. “It’s probably been the hardest year in my life.”
Kate shared similar sentiments in the video shared in September.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
In the comment section of the holiday card post, others shared their well-wishes with the family, writing, “Happy Christmas your royal highnesses! I hope the joy of Princess Catherine’s recovery makes this the most special one yet.”
“Perfect Christmas card for everyone who watched the video,” another comment read. “Have a blessed and healthy celebration.”
The photographer also commented, saying, “An honor to have captured this year’s Christmas card photo for The Prince & Princess of Wales.”
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, also shared their Christmas card.
The card featured six images from their year, including one of their two children running toward them.
