“Invisible House can be there or cannot... If the roof, with water, reflects the sky this building will never be found — until it is discovered,” Australian architect Peter Stutchbury once said of his famous, and bewildering, brainchild: The Invisible House.

And now, this aesthetically pleasing “rural retreat” is headed to the auction block, multiple outlets including Mansion Global, reported.

Nestled quietly in the Blue Mountains, the 4,600-square-foot property sits on 162 acres of land and gazes upon the Megalong Valley, its glass walls reflecting the stark contrast of the puffy alabaster clouds against a wild indigo sky. It has five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

“The home is an oasis enveloped by national park and state forest, making city life feel like it has never been further away,” listing agent James McCowan told Mansion Global.

Once dubbed “Australian House of the Year,” the striking estate stands out to people in various ways, with different outlooks on its uniqueness.

“I’ve always been a James Bond fan,” current owner Steven Nasteski said to Domain.com. “To me, [Invisible House] completely resembled a house that would be in a James Bond movie — in the middle of nowhere, with extraordinary views and architecture.”

The home’s curious name comes from its roof line, which masterfully reflects the sky.

“Most people are blown away when they see it for the first time,” co-agent James McCowan said to Realestate.com.au. “When you arrive, the home is really invisible; you don’t actually see it until you’re right on top of it. There’s a spectacular sense of arrival.”

Until recently, the home was being used as a vacation rental on the website Contemporary Hotels, with guests giving it high marks for cleanliness, location, guest service and condition.

“Where do I even start with this absolutely jaw-dropping place,” one guest gushed. “Never before have I been to a home like this. It is absolutely enormous, and very spacious for the 7 people in our group. The house is super-modern and compelling in its design, unlike any other I’ve ever stayed at.”

“Unbelievable home and setting,” another guest said. “Home was immaculate and stunning. 5-star accommodations.”

“House of grand proportions!” another exclaimed. “You won’t be disappointed with architectural design of the house that’s for sure!”
