A lucky gambler playing a card game won one of the biggest jackpots at a Connecticut casino.

Now the player is a millionaire.

The guest sat at a Spanish 21 table July 9 at Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Earth, the casino said in news release.

Spanish 21 is a variation of blackjack where a player has to get a hand that adds up to 21. But unlike blackjack, all 10s have been removed from the deck.

“The guest was playing the optional $5 Bonus Spin Xtreme side bet and spun Triple Diamonds which landed them a whopping $2,018,742.30!” the casino said.

The casino said it’s the largest win this year, and the fifth-largest “table game payouts ever at Mohegan Sun.”

Other players also won big prizes at the casino recently.

One lucky gambler bet $25 on a Dollar Storm slot machine July 6 and won $211,079.52, McClatchy News reported.

Another guest hit the $115,266.58 jackpot July 7 playing the Railroad Riches slot machine.

Mohegan Sun is in Uncasville, which is about a 45-mile drive southeast from Hartford.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
