Powerball player wins $2 million prize in Texas. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Texas won $2 million but just missed the $418 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers and the Power Play but not the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, March 19, the Texas Lottery said.
The winning ticket was sold at a market in Edinburg, about a 230-mile drive south of San Antonio, lottery officials said.
Another Texas player won a $100,000 prize. A ticket sold in Colorado won $2 million in the drawing.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $444 million, with a cash value of about $207.2 million, for the next drawing Saturday, March 22, the national Powerball site said.
The winning numbers were 8, 11, 21, 49 and 59, with a Powerball of 15, the lottery said. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
More than 525,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Jan. 18, when an Oregon player hit the $329 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
