Lottery player hits huge jackpot on instant game in Georgia. Where was ticket sold?
A stop at an Atlanta-area gas station paid off big for one lucky lottery player.
A player in Johns Creek won $163,145 in the $25 and $50 Frenzy Quick Win Game, netting 50% of the rolling progressive jackpot, the Georgia Lottery said.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Nesbit Ferry Food Mart in Johns Creek, about a 30-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta, according to the lottery.
Each play in the $25 and $50 Frenzy game is $5, giving players a chance to win a free ticket, $25, $50, or 50% of the rolling jackpot, according to the rules of the game. The lucky player beat odds of 1-in-240,000 to snag the top prize.
Winners have 90 days to claim prizes on instant games and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, the Georgia Lottery said.
Johns Creek is about a 30-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
