As clocks hit midnight every day, some people pull out their phones to play the daily Wordle.

The game took the world by storm and had the masses trying to guess the five-letter word of the day. People were sharing their scores and creating competitions among friends and family of who could guess the Wordle first.

Soon, people will have another way to play Wordle. New York Times Games and Hasbro teamed up to create “Wordle: The Party Game.”

The game is played on mini dry-erase cards, a promotional video shows. The game includes transparent yellow and green tiles, reminiscent of the those that appear on phone or computer screens.

“Swap solo play for social with this analog version of the Wordle game,” the game’s Amazon listing said. “Players take turns writing down a 5-letter Secret Word. The others try to guess it in the fewest tries to win.”

There are three ways to play the new party game: fast mode, timed mode and the classic way people know and love.

Up to four people can play the game at once, or people can team up to compete in groups.

Hasbro approached The New York Times to create the party game, the company’s Gaming’s Senior Vice President and General Manager Adam Biehl told CNN Business.

“What sparked our interest was ... how much fun people were having posting the results on social media,” Biehl told CNN Business, who first reported the news of the new game. “That’s when we knew that there was something special about it.”

The game is available for preorder on Amazon, Target and Hasbro’s Pulse website. Orders are expected to ship Oct. 1.

Wordle’s online game first started gaining steam at the beginning of 2022. People who were scrolling through social media were being bombarded with green and yellow squares.

The game is simple. Players get six guesses to uncover a random five-letter word of the day. Wordle was purchased by The New York Times after it blew up in popularity.
